Major League Eating is proud to announce a new event to our 2017 slate of sanctioned eating championships. Behold, the Fresno Tacos World Taco-Eating Championship! Major League Eaters from near and far will compete in this inaugural event in beautiful Fresno, CA on Saturday, July 29th.

The Fresno Tacos? What? Give us a minute or two to explain: The Fresno Grizzlies play in the Pacific Coast League and are the Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros MLB club. The Grizzlies will play as the Tacos in celebration of all that is good and decent about tacos, in keeping with the club’s longstanding belief (a correct belief, by the way) that tacos simply rule. The contest will take place as part of a wider celebration at Taco Truck Throwdown 7, a not-be-missed gathering of 35 taco trucks, hungry people and brilliant baseball.

Do you dare challenge yourself against taco upon taco upon taco? Do you wish to behold the majesty of the Fresno Tacos in all their glory in the summer twilight? Do you want to simply come and see the best eaters in the world do what they do so well? This is The Fresno Tacos World Taco-Eating Championship! At the table or in the crowd—don’t you ever miss it!
