Major League Eating is proud to announce the return of The Dell’Osso Family Farm Baconfest World Bacon Eating Championship to our 2017 slate of sanctioned eating contests. The event will be held once again at The Dell’Osso Family Farm Baconfest—an annual celebration of bacon, beer and live bands.
At last year’s inaugural championship, the world’s top-ranked female eater, Miki Sudo, triumphed in an overtime matchup against Michelle Lesco; both eaters consumed eight pounds of bacon in eight minutes of regulation competition. Sudo was happy; Lesco was noble and gracious, as anyone who has had the pleasure of getting to know her would expect. Local hero Steve Hendry would finish in the third place. And while others ate less, there can be no losers in a bacon-eating contest and so there were no losers. Because it is bacon and bacon is good. It needs no more explaining.
