She’s Mulling It Over Wine

Ingredients
- 2 bottles merlot or dry red wine of your choice
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. water
- 1 large orange, sliced
- 1- 8” square double-layered cheesecloth
- 2 cinnamon sticks broken in half
- 8 whole cloves
Instructions
- Combine wine, sugar, and water in slow cooker
- Rinse cheesecloth, squeeze out water
- Wrap cinnamon sticks and cloves in cheesecloth, tie securely and place in slow cooker
- Add orange slices to wine and spice mix
- Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 to 2 ½ hours
- Discard spice bag
- Ladle into mugs and serve
Notes
Since this recipe adds some spice, save your expensive vintage wine for another occasion. Your grocery-store variety will do just fine.
Keep the lid on the cooker closed the entire time. Stand back when opening the lid – the steam will be hot!
