THE CHAMPIONS RETURN TO CONEY ISLAND!

As is tradition, the Hot Dog Eating Champions of the world will be crowned this coming July 4th, 2019, at the original Nathanโ€™s Famous, located at the corner of Surf and Stillwell Avenues in sunny Coney Island, in beautiful Brooklyn, NY. The event marks the culmination of Nathanโ€™s Famous annual cross-country qualifying tour and pits regional champions against the title-holdersโ€”Miki Sudo of Las Vegas, NV, in the Womenโ€™s division, and Joey Chestnut of San Jose, CA, in the Menโ€™s.

In recent years, an estimated 35,000 fans have made the pilgrimage to the corner of Surf and Stillwell Avenues in Coney Island to watch the Nathanโ€™s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog-Eating Contest in person. At the 2018 event, Chestnut ate 74 Hot Dogs and Buns in 10 minutes to set a new World Record. Sudo won the Ladiesโ€™ Title with 37 Hot Dogs and Buns. The womenโ€™s World Record stands at 45 Hot Dogs and Buns in 10 minutes. That mark was set by Sonya Thomas in 2012.

The event is free and open to the public and will be broadcast on ESPN.

The Male and Female Championships will take place on Thursday, July 4th, 2019, beginning at 11am at the original Nathanโ€™s Famous location โ€” 1310 Surf Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11224
